Vintage Early 1980s Rare DESIGNER DAVID FIELDEN Size 8 Black Pearl Bead Embellished Party Prom Occasion Dress

Brand - David Fielden 

Condition - In very good vintage condition. 

David Fielden was a British designer based out if London. He built his reputation on bespoke bridal wear and bold romantic eveningwear. As his popularity grew he moved more towards ready to wear pieces but I think this dress I have here is a bespoke piece, because the label don't look mass produced and are hand stitched in to the dress. 

For well over 45 years, Fielden's creations have been the dream for countless brides and lovers of occasion wear. His many celebrity clients include Kate Moss, Julia Roberts, Helen Mirren, Kim Kardashian, Myleene Klass, and Cindy Lauper.

This gorgeous 1980s dress could have stepped right out of the 1950s. It is such a beautiful shape and silhouette. 

It is made from a black nice quality gaberdine type fabric. 

It has a sweetheart neckline to the front with soutache lace detailing that continues round the back. 

It fastens to the back of the dress with a zip and hook..

The bodice is embellished with various types of faux pearl beads.

With very short cap style sleeves. 

The bodice is boned at the back front and sides for support, shape and sructure.

The skirt is a very full rockabilly style skirt that is lined with a layer of net and then an lining of sateen fabric. Short in length.

An absolute stunner of a dress that the pics do not do justice. This is a real quality piece of fashion history.

It is labelled as a UK size 14 but it is measuring up to more like a modern day size 8.

Please note that the dress is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.
